Three generations building on the Peninsula.
Brent Jones’ father was a general contractor and custom cabinet builder before him.
We would lead with that if we only got to say one thing, because it explains the rest – why we take work other builders pass on, why we would rather tell you a job is not a fit than take it, and why we are still here.
Brent Jones
Born and raised in Clallam County, and an Army veteran. He grew up on job sites and in lumber yards, which is a different education from the one received later.
He studied business management at Peninsula College and building technology at Pierce College, spent several years in real estate acquisitions and development with a Community Development Corporation, and co-owned a commercial contracting business before founding Jones Custom Contracting in 2011. The company started in high-end custom remodels and cabinetry, and refocused on building homes in 2019.
Brent runs the field. If you are on a job with us, he is the one you will see.
Mickey Aughtry
Mickey joined as partner in 2019. Originally from Atlanta, Mickey has been involved in construction literally from coast to coast.
He started as a laborer in commercial construction in the mid-1980s and within a few years was contracting commercial office and retail interiors. A downturn moved him into home building and remodeling. Between sales, estimating, production management and a strong technical background, he handles administration and finance.
Our Process
We run a limited number of jobs at once, by design. Every project has a lead person accountable for it, on the site. An owner is a phone call away during business hours, and after hours your message reaches one of us as well.
That has a cost and we will say it plainly: we cannot take everything, and we will tell you early on if we are not the right builder for what you want. A job we take is a job we can give proper attention to.
We are veteran-owned. What that has meant in practice: since 2023 we have gone back six times for a local veterans organization, starting with a donated house we converted into homes for eight men. That work is here.
