Lifting and moving buildings
A building can be lifted off its foundation, carried, and set back down. That single technique answers several problems that otherwise have no good answer.
Structural relocation and building lifting
Five relocations to date, including an aircraft hangar. Most of the work is not the move – it is disconnecting a building from everything that ties it to the ground, and reinforcing a structure that was engineered to stand still.
When the bluff is coming for your house
On a large enough parcel the house can be moved back from the edge. Same land, same view, same address. The option has an expiry date.
Raising a home above the water
For low-bank property where the water is getting closer rather than the ground getting shorter.
An apartment under the house you already own
Lift the house, build a full-height foundation beneath it, and gain a floor without touching a setback or a neighbour’s view.
The building you are not allowed to rebuild
Older structures on non-conforming setbacks can often be rebuilt from the plates down while they stay standing – keeping a right that demolition would end permanently.
